By means of mass balanced biometric data, we specked the mechanical features, biological filters, oxygenation and CO2 degassing towers to maintain excellent water quality at the given stocking density within a rotational cycle.

Organic Fish Direct believe in sourcing the best available eggs, fry, broodstock, and genetics for various projects and species. We have in numerous cases had to import and or source the best and appropriate genetics for commercial projects.

Feed and its efficiency are the greatest single cost in fish farming. OFD does not believe in compromise on the nutrition of farmed fish. Organic Fish Direct has access to some of the brightest minds in feed formulation both internally and through our associates. It is important that the right formulation has been developed based on the local raw materials which based on an ingredient selection of available plant cereals and proteins.

OFD can link their aquaculture system to that of a greenhouse for plant production known as aquaponics. Aquaponics refers to any system that combines conventional aquaculture with hydroponics in a symbiotic environment. In an aquaponic system, water from an aquaculture system is fed to a hydroponic system where the by-products are broken down by nitrifying bacteria initially into nitrites and subsequently into nitrates that are utilized by the plants as nutrients.
